Knowledge Activities
The production, collection, collation and indexing of knowledge concerning unmanned systems, so that it can be made easily available to legitimate interested parties, is at the heart of the Unmanned Systems Institute. Activities here include:
Collecting library/archive material from existing external sources
Collecting library/archive material from within AUVSI
Devising and implementing a knowledge management system
Acting as a clearing house for questions and answers
Subject matter groups carrying forward work focused on developing and increasing knowledge
Developing, maintaining and promulgating many of the AUVSI knowledge resources (eg databases, directories, compilations).
Addressing the collection, collation and indexing of unmanned systems standards, including technical standards
Compiling and maintaining a list of subject matter experts and qualified spokespeople covering all areas of unmanned systems
Providing ‘packaged knowledge’ products on repayment, either tailored to meet individual requirements or for general sale.
Forum There is an AUVSI Forum application at www.unsysinst.org/forum which can be accessed from the Forum link at the top of each page. The purpose of the Forum is enable discussion - unrestricted by geographic location - about all aspects of unmanned systems. Initially the Forum has been set up with a list of possible discussion topics, but will be dynamically configured to meet users’ requirements.
Wiki There is an AUVSI Forum application at www.unsysinst.org/wiki which can be accessed from the Wiki link at the top of each page. The purpose of the Wiki is to capture and develop concepts, definitions and terminology - unrestricted by geographic location - about all aspects of unmanned systems. The Wiki will be dynamically configured to meet users’ requirements
