Currently AUVSI publishes proceedings of all its major meetings, normally on the Web or on a CD.
The Institute will continue this model by publishing proceedings of all its significant activities, such as workshops and studies, and events of interest to the unmanned systems community. The proceedings will be published primarily on the web, but CDs will be issued when appropriate. Individual papers will be considered for publishing in paper journals.
There is a demand for a journal, probably in both web and paper forms, to focus on technical and professional aspects of unmanned systems (as opposed to news, marketing, business development, advertising)
One of the early tasks for the Institute is to characterise the requirement and to investigate resource implications.
